No gen2gen through the summer

Hi everyone! For May, June, and July there will be no gen2gen. However, if a date comes up, I will let you all know. Thank you all who participated. Lord willing, we will start up again in a few months.

March is now rescheduled for the 28th. I'm so sorry about all of this! I hope you can come!! 

February

On February 28th, we went to Asbury. We did the same thing we always do except we visited a little bit before we started. I just want to tell everyone in case you don't know: these people really appreciate the service we do to them. Over and over again, they communicated their gratefulness to see us and how they were blessed by our service. One lady we visited said,"It is so good to see you!" And then we talked some more and she said again,"It is so good to see you!" It was very touching. :) I hope that we are showing God's love to these people through our joy in serving. Thanks for your participation and heart to serve!

March canceled and rescheduled

The music group that was going to play on March 14 canceled and rescheduled for the next Saturday. That is the 21st. It is at the same time, 1-4:30 pm. I'm sorry for all the rescheduling. Thanks for being flexible!

Tomorrow is cancelled

The music group that was going to play tomorrow at Asbury cancelled so there is no need for us to go. However, they are coming next Saturday (the 28th) at the same time. I wanted to let everyone know just in case you can come that day.

What do we do there?

I have gotten some questions about what exactly we do at Asbury for 3 hours. So, I am here to explain. :)

We meet at the church at 1. We then drive to Asbury and meet with the Activities Coordinator. At 1:30 we go up to a floor of the building and start asking if people want to go. We go to a room, knock on the door, and if they answer, we go in the room, say hello and ask if they would like to go to the event downstairs. Usually it is a Christian string ensemble. (Not at all connected to our church) If they do want to go, we wheel them to the elevator and take them down to the "events center." We stay for the performance and bring them back to their floor at the end. They have a tag on their wheelchair that says what floor they are on. 

It sounds simple, but it serves them so greatly. In Matthew 25:40, it says, "And the King will answer them, ' Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' " 

We are serving Christ in one small way as we serve the residents of Asbury.
